Mayberry Farm is located approximately 8 miles south of the
town of Byers on the eastern plains of Colorado. We are about
an hour east of downtown Denver. We enjoy the wide open spaces and
have a fantastic view of Pikes Peak and much of the Front Range on clear
days.
Our 37 acres affords us the opportunity to establish an
environment conducive to raising top quality alpacas. The fresh air
and open space provide our herd a healthy, relaxing environment. We
gaze out our front window onto the the alpaca barns, corral and pasture area.
We can watch the cria at play as the livestock guardian dogs and llama go
about their job protecting their herd of alpacas.

These fantastic animals
offer much opportunity both financially and quality of life. There is
nothing quite like watching a newborn cria get its wobbly legs steadied and
take the first steps.
We have made the decision to focus on Huacaya. We started with
two white girls who had been bred to a wonderful medium fawn male. We
soon added two light fawn females, a mother and daughter. Both of
these females had been bred to a full Peruvian, half Accoyo, top winning
herdsire. The rest, as they say, is history. Our herd has grown
both organically and via purchases. We continue to strive to improve
the herd each year. We think we are are on the right track. Our
alpacas are proving it through show placements and compliments from fellow
breeders. We continue to plan future improvements and are more than
happy to share our thoughts and plans.
